Ahh, now this week brings us some DLC I can really sink my teeth into.
$1.99/MS160 per track for Devo and Duran, $0.99/MS80 for The Janitors.
Mmm, new wavy. Yes please.
- "Girl U Want" by Devo (newly recorded for Rock Band)
- "Through Being Cool" by Devo (newly recorded for Rock Band)
- "Girls on Film" by Duran Duran (master)
- "Rio" by Duran Duran (master)
- "Get Your Rock On" by The Janitors (master)
And the week's odd man out:
$1.99/MS160 per track for Devo and Duran, $0.99/MS80 for The Janitors.

This week brings us the "Roadrunner" pack, my guess is it's so named for the metal record label. And what does it contain?
Obviously not a pack for the non-metal fans out there. But if that's not you and you're interested, you'll want to buy it in the first month. The price is $5.99/MS480 for the six-pack or $0.99/MS80 each. After the initial month, it'll go up to $9.99/MS800 for the pack or $1.99/MS160 each.
- "Runnin' Wild" by Airbourne - They didn't say they had AC/DC this week! Oh, wait, it's not? Well whatever, sounds like it really really wants to be and does a pretty good job of it too.
- "Clouds Over California" by DevilDriver - Death metal. I can never make up my bloody mind on death metal. I'm very love/hate. Death metal would probably appreciate that.
- "Constant Motion" by Dream Theater - Dream Theater are what I think Metallica probably could've (should've?) become 20 years or so back. This is a very good song and I think more than worth my dollar.
- "My Curse" by Killswitch Engage - Tied into GH3 in my head and I didn't enjoy it too much there. Overall unimpressed.
- "Aesthetics of Hate" by Machine Head - Thrash, which I'm often meh on, but fantastic guitar work. LOVE the arpeggio section. I'm still undecided though, and may want to see the chart on this one first. (As an aside, gotta appreciate the metal variety in this pack.)
- "Sleepwalker" by Megadeth - I never really got too much into new Megadeth but this doesn't sound too bad, hm.

About three weeks, in truth. I've been THAT absorbed in The Who that I haven't even really cared too much about other DLC. Which is just as well, because the last three weeks haven't really been that exciting to me personally. But hey, songs are songs. ( So what have I missed? )

Same list, but now with links, for those "What was that song again?" moments.
( What WAS that song again? )
Ahh fuck it, gotta run. Finish list and re-stamp tonight after work.
ETA: List complete with links and fun.

Came home from work last night with my free Roku player. Nice to finally get to hook up what I've been helping other people hook up for the past few months.
Got up this morning and have been playing The Who tracks which only rule everything ever.
Yummy breakfast in our near future.
Downtown for Ground Kontrol and one of Mike's favourite traditions of the year.
Eddie Izzard gig tonight with the potential to hang out by the stage door after for his QA.
Followed by potentially more post-Eddie Ground Kontrol.
And all this interspersed with E3 news and a Rock Band 2 setlist which I still haven't had time to properly process.
Going to be an awesome day.

Okay, no time to link and make comments before work, but I wanted to get this out there.
( Rock Band 2 setlisten! )
Discuss! Entertain me at work tonight.
ETA: There are also 20 free DLC tracks on their way in Fall '08.
And also, ( have a Rock Band 2 features press release. )
Okay, leaving now. (eeee)

First up, HAHAHA typing with taped fingers. Tonight will be fantastic fun. Please forgive typos. The thumb was not in fact made for more than the space bar, no matter how you try to force it.
But okay, so the first 10 tracks have been leaked and confirmed for RB2. And what do you know, it's pretty much straight on with what was gleaned from the G4 screenshot.
( Cut for those who don't want to know yet. )
But that aside, this is a nice start. Looking forward to the rest. Come on, Tuesday!

Mike has prompted me a few times to make my Rock Band 2 wish list before the actual list hits Teh Intarwebs. With the full track list set to be announced at E3 on 15 July (holy crap, could that day get more packed for me?) and a very solid busy week ahead, a post-shower cool-off seems an ideal opportunity.
I'm not going to Vegas Odds it like Mike did because I am numbers retarded. But I'll probably talk at extended length about how there's, like, no way woe :(
( In order by artist. )
What do you think? I got a snowball's chance of even a handful of my picks?

Totally spaced on today's DLC. It's been a week.
That's right, finally, Rush masters. Which would excite the hell out of me if I didn't really hate Rush. (Yeah, you heard me.)
As for "Working Man", it was indeed released for DLC about five months ago, but as a cover. This is the master. Not just any master, but a never before released alternate take with a completely different solo (hence the vid link being to a Rock Band chart). Again, I'd be excited, save for the not liking Rush part.
And all this is good. BUT NEXT WEEK, THE WHO.
- "Snow (Hey Oh)" by Red Hot Chili Peppers (master)
- "Tell Me Baby" by Red Hot Chili Peppers (master)
- "Closer to the Heart" by Rush (master)
- "Working Man (vault edition)" by Rush (alternate-take master)

About Rock Band, of course. Because heaven forbid I should post about something of significance in life.
(Actually, I plan to do that tomorrow, STAY TUNED.)
After a fun evening enjoying my hubby who I get to see for about five minutes a week these days, I hopped online while I try to get tired enough to go to bed at a reasonable time. And what should I find, but I deluge of information being leaked out from all sides. What's this? Could it be that we're zeroing in on some Rock Band 2 tracks?
( Cut for those who don't want to be spoiled, and for those ready to kill me for never talking about any other fucking thing. )
Oh, and did I mention that Harmonix has announced already that all RB2 songs will be masters?
So there it is. No idea what, if any of these, will make into the final game. But so far, I am in love with what I see.
And hey, check that out. Tiredness accomplished.

Awesome day. Forget that I'm tired, that I have an oil change appointment and have finally been driven to the dreaded hair cut. For today, Mike has dug up The Who's upcoming Rock Band set list.
It's not the list I was theorizing about. In fact, I was wrong on, like, everything except the two that were announced with the press release.
But sometimes it's okay to be wrong.
Like when they pull out "Amazing Journey" on you.
Amazing FREAKING Journey. Only one of my all-time favourite songs! I about died when I read it. I never figured it'd happen. If you're going to have Tommy represent, it's gonna be "Pinball Wizard", yeah? But apparently not. BECAUSE HARMONIX LOVES ME.
I now bring you the 12-song setlist, as announced on The Who's website. I usually stick with the "If Harmonix didn't say it, it's a rumour" creedo, but this time, given the source, I think I'll trust it.
All masters, of course. All live tracks are from the seminal Live at Leeds.
The price looks like it'll be $1.99/MS160 each, or $19.99/MS1600 for the pack.
I pull my twenty aside now.

- "Amazing Journey" (It doesn't specifically say "Sparks" is included here, but ye gods, I hope so ...)
- "Baba O'Riley" (I know, right? I thought it was lost too.)
- "Behind Blue Eyes"
- "Eminence Front"
- "Going Mobile"
- "Leaving Here"
- "My Generation" (LIVE)
- "Real Good Looking Boy"
- "Sea & Sand"
- "Summertime Blues" (LIVE)

It's official.
Rock Band 2 will be coming our way in just a few short months. And yes, it'll be available on the 360 first, in September. <hunkers down to wait for the inevitable>
Important (to me) and confirmed so far:
- DLC from RB1 will be automatically imported into RB2
- Instruments are compatible
With that, I'm open to every other improvement they make, though I do admit I'm wondering what, if anything, will become of the on-disc songs from RB1.
This is, no surprise, a no-brainer for me. All I'm going to have to pay for is the game disc (although it sounds like it'll be available as downloadable content as well), and I like that JUST FINE. I may want to try the new instruments. But that's a maybe. Not having to outlay yet more money for yet more plastic instruments makes this an absolute go.
But wait! There's more. And this is for our current Rock Band.
15 July will see the release of a 12 pack of songs from The Who, coinciding with VH1's honours. It's not the long-awaited "Who's Next". Looks like the oft-circulated rumours are true and they simply weren't able to find all the master tracks for it. But apparently Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey made their other masters available for a sort of "best of" release. And this is huge, huge yay.
The sad part is that I think there won't be "Baba O'Riley". I believe this was one of the mentioned missing songs holding up "Who's Next". This sucks, but if they can't find it, they can't find it. It's also sad because it means there are some really great songs on "Who's Next" that wouldn't be one of their iconic songs but I was still really looking forward to.
Here's how it's awesome though. A 12-pack. Of hits.
Don't know what's in it yet, but let's just think about it ... "My Generation", "Who Are You", "I Can't Explain", "Pinball Wizard", "Magic Bus", "The Kids Are Alright", "You Better You Bet", "Substitute" ... And hey, maybe this means I'll actually get "Happy Jack", which is a huge personal love for me. Whenever I hear this song, I clearly remember being four years old and my mum playing her records and singing this song to me.
Much like RB2, a Who pack is total no-brainer. They can take my money now, I'll want it.

This week was predicted by some. Not by me, because I stopped making predictions after never being right ever.
To celebrate Crüefest, this week's pack includes:
To celebrate Crüefest, this week's pack includes:
- "Down at the Whiskey" by Mötley Crüe (master)
- "Time is Running Out" by Papa Roach (master)
- "Who's Going Home with You Tonight" by Trapt (master)
The Crüefest tracks go for $2.99/MS240 for the pack or 99¢/MS80 each.
But wait! There's more!- "Promised Land" by Vesuvius (master)
This track is from the upcoming movie (I've never heard of) The Rocker and is absolutely, 100% FREE.
Which is cool because I can't find a clip of it, but for FREE who cares?
Yay free stuff.
If this new movie doesn't, in turn, include Rock Band in it somewhere, I will be very surprised.

What a difference a few months of play can make. From repeated failings of "Gimme Shelter" on expert vocals to five stars expert vocals and expert guitar together.

I mentioned in my last DLC post how "Doolittle" is releasng next week. Figured that was about it. I mean heck, a full album? That'd be enough, yeah?
Apparently HMX don't think so. They have more. Weezer three-pack!
All from their new album. $1.99/MS160 each, or $5.49/MS440 for the pack.

After four or five solid months of trying and literally hundreds of attempts, I have finally, finally done it.

Gold stars. And 100% gold stars too!
Even if nothing else goes right today, this right here makes the day entirely worthwhile.
